Dining table in rattan and rubber wood. The top is made from rattan laminated with MDF. Rattan has a beautiful, warm hue and a distinct texture.
The decorative patters on the tabletop is made with thin rattan strands. Rattan is a vine-like palm with a long slender stem. A rattan cannot stand on its own but scrambles through and over other vegetation in the forest. In forests where rattan grows it’s economic value can help protect forest land by providing an alternative to loggers who can harvest rattan canes instead of timber. Rattan grows back much faster than most tropical woods.
